DELIVERANCE: CYCLE OF TEMPTATION PART II
This is part 2 of a 3 part post. The first post was Temptation.
GOD'S PROMISES:
(Job 5:19) He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.
(Psa 91:3) Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
NOTE: When we are trapped already, he has promised to get us out. Therefore let us call on His Name for "Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
(1Co 10:13) There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
(2Ti 4:18) And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
NOTE: Here we see His Promise of preservation and deliverance til we shall stand on that other shore.
(2Pe 2:9) The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
(Gal 1:4) Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
Col 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
THE REASON THAT CHRIST GAVE HIMSELF FOR US:
(1Co 15:3) For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; (4)And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
NOTE ABOVE: The clearest definition of the Gospel in the New Testament is Christ's Death, Burial, and Resurrection.
(1Pe 2:24) Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
(1Jn 2:2) And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
DEFINITION: PROPITIATION
FROM WIKIPEDIA.ORG
In Christianity, Propitiation is a theological term denoting that by which God is rendered propitious, i.e., that 'satisfaction' or 'appeasement' by which it becomes consistent with His character and government to pardon and bless sinners. The propitiation does not procure His love or make Him loving; rather, it renders it consistent for Him to exercise His love towards sinners.(Rev 1:5) And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
THANK YOU LORD JESUS CHRIST... WE LOVE YOU!

TEMPTATION: CYCLE OF TEMPTATION PART I
This is Part 1 of a 3 part post.
Mat 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
NOTE: We need to pray that we are not led into temptation but that God will deliver us from evil [Also Luke 11.4].
Mat 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
NOTE: Here we are told to watch and pray so we don't enter into temptation for the flesh is weak [Also Mark 14.38, Luke 22.40].
Greek meaning of the word temptation [Strong's Greek - peirasmos - pi-ras-mos']
From G3985; a putting to proof (by experiment [of good], experience [of evil], solicitation, discipline or provocation); by implication adversity: - temptation, X try.
Luke 8:13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
NOTE: From the parable of the sower, Jesus speaks of a "time of temptation". He said that some would have "no root" [depth?] and would believe for a while then fall away in a time of temptation.
GOD'S PROMISES:
1Cor. 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
The God's Word version of the bible renders the above verse as:
1Co 10:13 There isn't any temptation that you have experienced which is unusual for humans. God, who faithfully keeps his promises, will not allow you to be tempted beyond your power to resist. But when you are tempted, he will also give you the ability to endure the temptation as your way of escape.
NOTE: We sometimes feel as if we are going through things on our own but others have faced similar trials and there is nothing "unusual". God has helped others through it and he is no respecter of persons. He will help anyone who sincerely wants victory.
James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
NOTE: It would help us tremendously if during the temptation we would remember that we are "supremely blest" [Strong's Greek - makarios - mak-ar'-ee-os] when we are going through the trial. God has here promised that he will reward those who love Him and endure the temptation with a Crown of Life!
James 1:2-8 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; (3) Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. (4) But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. (5) If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. (6) But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. (7) For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. (8) A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
NOTE: We are to "count it all joy" or be very happy "knowing" that the testing of our faith produces "patience" [Endurance]. When the testing is over and we have endured it, we shall be more mature spiritually and complete "wanting nothing" [won't need anything]. However, if we lack wisdom to go through the trial we should ask God for it in faith and not waver for He will give it "liberally" [generously] and He will "unbaideth not" [doesn't find fault with] those who ask. We are then warned not to waver when we ask or we won't receive. Those who waver in faith will not "receive any thing of the Lord."

Obedience to God
What My Obedience To God Costs Other People — Sun January 11
Verse
They laid hold upon one Simon … and on him they laid the cross.— lu 23:2
Thought
If we obey God it is going to cost other people more than it costs us, and that is where the sting comes in. If we are in love with our Lord, obedience does not cost us anything, it is a delight, but it costs those who do not love Him a good deal. If we obey God it will mean that other people's plans are upset, and they will gibe us with it - "You call this Christianity?" We can prevent the suffering; but if we are going to obey God, we must not prevent it, we must let the cost be paid.
Our human pride entrenches itself on this point, and we say - I will never accept anything from anyone. We shall have to, or disobey God. We have no right to expect to be in any other relation than our Lord Himself was in (see Luke 8:2-3).
Stagnation in spiritual life comes when we say we will bear the whole thing ourselves. We cannot. We are so involved in the universal purposes of God that immediately we obey God, others are affected. Are we going to remain loyal in our obedience to God and go through the humiliation of refusing to be independent, or are we going to take the other line and say - I will not cost other people suffering? We can disobey God if we choose, and it will bring immediate relief to the situation, but we shall be a grief to our Lord. Whereas if we obey God, He will look after those who have been pressed into the consequences of our obedience. We have simply to obey and to leave all consequences with Him.
Beware of the inclination to dictate to God as to what you will allow to happen if you obey Him.
Condemnation
Matthew 12:7
Jesus said this to the Pharisee's whose rules were more important than people with needs.
Jesus,
Please help me not to be like this but to see past to the need. Forgive me for times I may have misjudged others. I want your mercy and so I cannot be hypocritical and not give it to others.
I realize that I am human and need your wisdom in this so that I will, going forward, be a better believer.
Please shed your light on my fellow beloved believers who may need this as well as I.

Wisdom of C.S. Lewis
The natural life in each of us is something self-centred, something that wants to be petted and admired, to take advantage of other lives, to exploit the whole universe.

Don't Hurry! Wait.
When God brings the blank space, see that you do not fill it in, but wait. The blank space may come in order to teach you what sanctification means, or it may come after sanctification to teach you what service means. Never run before God's guidance. If there is the slightest doubt, then He is not guiding. Whenever there is doubt - don't.
